Demo Day is Hacks/Hackers NYC's periodic opportunity for members to show off their journalism-related projects. For our third installment, on Oct. 11 at New Work City, you'll hear from:

• Erik Hinton, Baroque - custom-built front page CMS
• Michael Bernstein, PenPal News - using news as a conversation-starter to connect students worldwide
• Ray Wu, WhatFailed.Us - insights from startup failures
• Nicola Hughes, ScraperWiki - online tool for scraping data and requesting data scrapes
• Chris van der Walt, UN Global Pulse HunchWorks - social graph for ground truth
Format for the evening: Presenters have 5 minutes to show project, and 5 minutes to answer questions about it.
